Clik here to view.$400,000 worth of renovations at Recreation Park’s 9-Hole Golf Course, also known as “Little Rec“, are now finished. City officials and representatives from the American Golf Corporation will hold an re-opening ceremony this Friday, February 5 at 3 p.m. Little Rec is located at 5000 East 7th Street in Long Beach.
According to Bob Livingstone, Superintendent of Golf and Contract Operations for the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, the renovation project was funded using a percentage of the green fees especially allocated for golf course improvements.
The clubhouse at the 9-Hole Golf Course received a face lift with improvements that included: new paint, tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment and patio furniture.

Clik here to view.In addition, all holes north of 6th Street received new cart paths and bunkers. The putting greens on the first and second holes were enlarged and more than 150 new trees were planted.
When work is completed on the restoration of the Colorado Lagoon water quality and habitat, the golf holes bordering the lagoon south of 6th Street will also be renovated, further enhancing the appeal and use of “Little Rec.”
